When Growth Feels Spooky — and Why We’re Doing It Anyway

When Growth Feels Spooky

This time of year always feels a little magical—and a little eerie. It’s like the air shifts or something… the days get shorter, and everything starts to change.

And change, even the good kind, can be… spooky.

When I started Well Balanced Women, I wasn’t sure anyone would show up. And now, as we expand our team, welcome Amanda Miller, PMHNP-BC, and put the finishing touches on our brand-new office space, I’ll be honest: that same old imposter voice still tries to creep in.

“Who do you think you are to grow this big?”

But the truth? Growth always feels a little scary right before it becomes something beautiful.

Imposter Syndrome Doesn’t Care Who You Are

Even as a provider, I’m definitely not immune to the doubts that keep us all up at night. Imposter syndrome doesn’t discriminate—it shows up for business owners, moms, students… truly anyone brave enough to put themselves out there.

I’ve learned that fear is usually just proof that I’m moving in the right direction.

That’s what this season is all about—learning to keep walking through the fog, even when you can’t see the full path yet (leaning hard into the last day of Spooky Season 👻).

A Gentle Reminder: Don’t Lose Yourself to the Season

This is also the time of year when our patients tend to fade into the background of their own lives.
The time change hits, the holidays barrel in with full force, and suddenly self-care becomes the thing you “get back to” in January.

But here’s your reminder: don’t wait.

If you’ve been meaning to schedule a follow-up, refill a prescription, or finally make that first appointment, now is the time.
Triggers are everywhere this season: exhaustion, family stress, social burnout, disrupted routines. You deserve the support that keeps you steady through it all.

Where to Find Us

If you’re visiting for the first time—or heading to our new space after the move—you’ll find us tucked into the quiet, wooded corner of Quarry Place on the Scioto in Dublin. It’s peaceful, welcoming, and surrounded by nature, just south of Bridge Park.

Use our Visit Us page for detailed directions and parking info, or open our location in Maps here.

Growing Anyway

At WBW, we’re leaning into growth—even when it feels uncertain. Because every time we’ve chosen to push through fear, the outcome has been connection, healing, and hope.

And that’s the same thing we want for you.

So yes—it’s a little spooky to take chances.
But it’s even scarier to keep putting yourself last.
