Elevating the Standard: Why I’m Investing in the Future of Women’s Mental Health

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what it really means to show up for the women who walk through our doors. Not just to listen, not just to support—but to lead. To know the science, stay current with the research, and bring the highest standard of mental health care to women in every season of life.

That’s what’s fueling this next chapter for me.

I’ve officially committed to a year-long clinical supervision with some of the leading reproductive psychiatrists in the country. It’s intense, it’s rigorous, and it’s entirely optional—but for me, it feels essential. Because the women we serve at Well Balanced Women deserve nothing less than the most thoughtful, informed, and evidence-based care available.

This supervision is part of the National Curriculum in Reproductive Psychiatry, and when I complete it, I’ll take a live exam to become certified. That title isn’t just a credential—it’s a promise. A promise to every woman who trusts me with her story, her care, and her wellbeing.

And that’s not all—I’m also preparing to sit for the North American Menopause Society’s Certified Provider Exam this fall. Because women in midlife deserve just as much care, attention, and expertise as women in their childbearing years. Your mental health matters in every phase—whether you’re navigating fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, motherhood or the wild world of perimenopause and beyond.

I’ll be honest—some of this probably is a little bit of that oldest-daughter, perfectionist energy. But it also comes from lived experience. I’ve seen what exceptional mental health care can do. I’ve also seen what happens when it falls short. I carry those experiences with me in every session, every decision, and now, in this commitment to deepen my expertise even further.

At the heart of all of this is you. The women building families, managing careers, navigating trauma, chasing peace, and just trying to feel okay. You deserve more than surface-level care. You deserve a provider who’s not just showing up—but leveling up, too.

I’m proud to keep raising the bar. For myself. For this practice. And most of all—for the women of Ohio, who deserve the absolute best.

With gratitude and deep respect,

Amy
